For a few months now, I've been aware of a Raiders of the Lost Ark game in production. I never really followed its progress because I didn't care for the art style. Recently, I discovered that the artist has been hard at work redesigning his backgrounds. I must say, they are agreeable. A Spanish demo was released a few days ago, and a translated version is in the works. Here are the two links.

I think this has potential to be a great game.

April's fools or LucasFan's return? You decide.

It looks to me like an April Fools joke. I'll see the author in hell! That is, of course, unless it's real, in which case I offer him praise  ;D. This "game" certainly does look better than the Raiders game that I previously mentioned. Still, I'm excited for it.

I hope that this isn't a joke... Their version of Raiders of the Lost Ark looks promising.  :)

I have to agree, this looks pretty awesome!
But the only problem that we have in the FoA Fanbase is that their are few finished games. To be exact we don't have any games with full length. Every year I saw so much promising projects, but then they suddenly disappeared   :'(

And by the way: I wonder if work on CoS is still continuing? Last year Calle mentioned that it would be released in 2010  :-X
I also hope that FoA 2 isn't completely dead (Including the "side-project")

have to completely agree about the status of released full games in the FoA Area... except the mother of all games, FoA itself, no full length game ever made it... yet.

For CoS and FoA2, i have no reliable information, but the persistence of the sites on the web and the (sparse, i'll give that) occurence of the one or the other update on either side, i have the hunch (nothing more, nothing less) that both games are still not lost. as i said, no hard evidence, tho... but why would both AFA and Calle spend the money for their webserver if they didnt at least PLAN to keep going on?

fandango, last I heard (through an email that I believe I posted on these forums a while back,) FoA2 isn't dead, but progress is at a crawling pace (or maybe even a standstill, I forget.) Either way, it's not looking too good.

Calle from CoS posted this on January 13 of this year:

"Yes, I am working with the game again.

However... I will be careful in making any promises this time. When I started this game I was a student without and responsibilities and kids. I've had lots of work the last few years but I have decided to make room for this project as well.

If I notice I won't have the time to finish it I will try and find someone that wants to take over the project. In that case I will send out a mail to all members at this forum as well as posting on the site.

For now, I will add a facebook share button and a twitter button on the homepage for those that are interested in sharing the information about this project

Finally, thanks for the support everyone!"

He hasn't posted about any progress since. He hasn't logged on in about a month and a half. Lastly, the forums are, once again, infested with spam.

I too don't believe that either of these games are dead, as the websites are still being paid for.

I don't think I need to point out that my Revenge of the Ancients iPod HTML game isn't going to happen. I'd appreciate it if rather than mark it as cancelled, you take it and the Curse of the Pharaohs (which was remarkably similar to Staff of Kings) and remove them from the list. I was a bit younger when I made these promises :-[.

why take them off the list? i think they belong in there, after all you spent quite some time with them, being released or not. Nothing bad about cancelling a project (even tho it IS a pity!); whats really bad is not admitting to one self that a project will never be completed. so, please keep them in the list. And to Grim, mind releasing some of the artwork you had for either game? im sure THAT might be interesting :)

If you feel strongly that way, I guess we can keep them. Very little progress was ever made in either game. Naturally, no artwork exists for the Revenge of the Ancients game. A non-interactive demo was released for the Curse of the Pharaohs game. I'll have to consider whether I should link to it here, as it's pretty embarrassing ;). No real artwork was done, only a 5 minute job done in paint so that we could get the feel for AGS. Still, the into was a bit humorous. I think I'll just upload the few line script.

How about adding the Raiders game to the list?  Quo and his team seem to be making considerable (and impressive) progress!  :D
